Sony Open Raises $1 Million for Hawaii Charities
May 27, 2010
–  Friends of Hawaii Charities, Inc. celebrated the success of the 2010 Sony Open PGA TOUR golf tournament by distributing $1,006,000 in the form of charitable grants to over 150 Hawaii not-for-profit organizations at an event hosted at Bishop Museum yesterday.  The record number of grant recipients serve Hawaii children, women, elderly and the impoverished.

Rudy Krause Named 2010 Sony Open Volunteer of the Year
January 20, 2010 – For outstanding volunteer service to Friends of Hawaii Charities and the Sony Open in Hawaii, Rudy Krause has been named the 2010 Chester Kahapea Volunteer of the Year.  For over 27 years, Krause has faithfully served as a tournament volunteer with the Sony Open, and previously, the Hawaiian Open.
