Friends of Hawaii Charities, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. The mission of The Friends is to activate financial resources from the private sector and spirited volunteerism from the community (and beyond), in concert with the extraordinary natural resources of the state to produce sports and cultural events that generate funds for qualifying not-for-profit endeavors in Hawaii, benefitting its women, children, elderly, and needy. The Friends’ flagship fundraising event is the Sony Open in Hawaii golf tournament held annually at Waialae Country Club in January. These collaborative efforts have served to generate over $23 million in charitable grants to over 350 charities in the Hawaiian Islands.
